"For over 30 years, I have had the privilege of working alongside Shane and witnessing his unwavering dedication to fostering safe and inclusive spaces for LGBTQIA+ communities in campuses and workplaces. His tireless advocacy for those marginalized by their sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions is truly inspiring. What sets Shane's work apart is his profound understanding of the nuances and complexities of intersectionality and intersecting identities. As the movement for justice and inclusion evolves, Shane is uniquely equipped to help your campus, nonprofit organization, or business fully embody its values of inclusion and belonging."

"Shane is an exceptional leader, mentor, communicator, and advocate… a committed educator who invested himself fully in his students, going above and beyond to ensure everyone felt welcomed and appreciated. As a skilled author and speaker, his outstanding communication abilities are clear, but what stands out even more is his engaging, fun nature and infectious enthusiasm. Having known Shane for many years, I’ve witnessed firsthand the relentless hard work and dedication he brings to every project he undertakes."

"Shane is the very best... They are open-hearted, open-minded, and open-eared, ready to learn and grow if you know something they don't and ready to guide and support when they know something you don't. Not only is Shane the amazing founder of Campus Pride, they are a traveling speaker and someone I am proud to work parallel with. In my time knowing Shane, I have never felt left out or competitive but rather welcomed in as a collaborator. Anyone in Shane's in-person or virtual presence will be better for it!"

Kryss Shane, PhD, MBA, MS, MSW, LSW, LMSW, March 2025

"I had the privilege of working with Shane Windmeyer during his graduate school years at Indiana University. I was serving as the Coordinator of the LGBTQ+ Center beginning in 1994. Shane was at the center of a variety of efforts by our Center to establish our identity. It came as no surprise that soon after graduation, Shane had organized a national organization called Campus Pride. I worked with Shane over the years updating IU’s policies, programs and resources.

On the 25th anniversary of the establishment of IU’s center, Shane was invited back to IU to deliver the keynote address to a gala celebration honoring one of the historic queer student services in the nation. Shane’s support of the award-winning efforts of Indiana University’s LGBTQ+ Center, from his graduate years on, has been nothing short of phenomenal."

Doug Bauder, Director (Ret. 1994-2019), LGBTQ+ Culture Center, Indiana University
